- As of 25.08.2021, 20.5 million hectares were harvested with wheat in Russia (20.2 as of 24.08.2021 and 19.9 as of 23.08.2021), 63.2 million tons of wheat (62.7 and 62.2) were harvested at an average yield of 3.09 tons/hectare (3.11 and 3.13 and 3.58 years earlier). Sunseed was harvested on 17,700 hectares, 24,400 tons of sunseed were harvested at an average yield of 1.38 tons/hectare (1.45 as of 24.08.2021).
- According to ProZerno's forecast, the wheat production in Kazakhstan will decrease to 11 - 11.5 million tons in 2021 from14.258 million tons in 2020.
- Over the period of 01.07 - 22.08.2021, wheat export from the EU was 2.9 million tons (2.66 years earlier). The largest buyers were South Korea with 407,100 tons, Algeria with 370,800 tons, Jordan with 283,000 tons, Britain with 265,300 tons and Vietnam with 190,400 tons. Exports of barley were 1.99 million tons (1.49), including China with 598,300 tons, Saudi Arabia with 358,200 tons, Turkey with 298,700 tons and Jordan with 229,100 tons, Tunisia 78,200 tons. Corn imports reached 1.84 million tons (2.04), including Brazil with 950,200 tons, Ukraine with 600,900 tons, Serbia with 117,800 tons and with Canada 116,200 tons.
- Yesterday, commodity funds in Chicago were net sellers of 3,000 contracts of wheat and net buyers of 17,000 contracts of soybeans and 9,000 contracts of corn.
- According to average forecasts, the wheat production in Canada will be 22.6 million tons (-1.4 compared to the last forecast of the USDA) which is 12.58 million tons lower compared to 2020/21. The market is looking forward to the forecast of StatsCan, which will be published on 30.08.2021. In general, there is a reduction of about 31 - 33 million tons in Canada, Russia, United States and Kazakhstan. To some extent, this decline has been offset by Ukraine and Australia. The EU wheat production is in question given recent analysts' forecasts for the wheat production in France and Germany.
- According to Anec, corn exports from Brazil will reach 4 - 4.74 million tons in August compared to 3.04 million tons in July and 6.68 million tons in August 2020. During the week of August 22 - 28, corn exports will be 1.34 million tons. Over the week of August 15-21, corn exports are projected to reach 882,000 tons. In the first 8 months of the year, exports totaled 10.68 million tons (14.34).
- The Philippines has announced a tender for the purchase of 168,000 tons of feed wheat of any origin and delivery within 17.09 - 05.11.2021.
- The authorities in India have allowed the import of 1.2 million tons of GM soymeal in order to maintain the poultry sector in the country. Deliveries will take place until 31.10.2021.
