- In the week starting on 02.02.2022, the export tax on Russian wheat will be 93.9 USD/ton (95.8), the export tax on barley will be 74.6 USD/ton (74.4) and the export tax on corn will be 49.2 USD/ton (50.6).
- Over the period of September-December 2021/22, 138,000 tons of high-oleic sunseed oil were exported from Ukraine, which is 12% less than the previous year. The largest customer was the EU with a share of 70% (46% a year earlier). The potential for annual sunseed oil exports is estimated at 400,000 tons (-7% compared to 2020/21).
- HIS Markit forecasts corn areas in the United States in 2022 of 89 million acres (91.49 in December and -1.87 compared to 2020/21). - According to Oil World, Iran may reduce imports of vegetable oils by 0.3 million tons within January-March compared to the previous year and by 0.4 million tons over April-September due to lower purchases of soyoil. Over the period of January-March, Iran may reduce palm oil purchases due to high prices, and in 2021/22 (October-September) palm oil purchases will fall to 420,000 tons (539,000 in 2020/21). In this regard, purchases of sunseed oil may increase from February.
- According to the forecast of the Association of Indonesian palm oil producers, palm oil production in Indonesia will reach 49 million tons in 2022 (46.89 in 2021). Palm oil exports will fall to 33.21 million tons (34.23) and palm oil stocks are estimated at 3.57 million tons.
