- As of September 27, 2022, 9 million hectares (47% of the plan) were sown with winter crops in Russia. A year earlier, 10.4 million hectares were sown. The lag is a consequence of precipitation in central European regions and Siberia.
- During the week starting on 28.09.2022, the export tax on Russian wheat will be 2,476.6 rubles/ton (2,668.3 a week earlier). The export tax on barley will be 2,152.6 rubles/ton (2,353.9) and the export tax on corn will be 3,659.9 rubles/ton (3,696.5).
- Over the period of 01.07 - 28.09.2022, 2.78 million tons of wheat (8.417 a year earlier), 669,000 tons of barley (3.596) and 4.488 million tons of corn (1.395) were exported from Ukraine.
- During the current season, Kazakhstan expects a wheat production of 13.5 million tons and wheat exports of 7 million tons. The initial stocks for the season are 1.5 million tons.
- Since the beginning of the season, 8.8 million tons of soft wheat and 0.1 million tons of durum wheat have been exported from the EU. The largest exporter is France with 3.4 million tons, followed by Romania with 1.4 million tons and Germany with 0.9 million tons. The main buyers were Algeria with 1.3 million tons, Morocco with 1.1 million tons, Egypt with 0.8 million tons, Nigeria with 0.6 million tons and Pakistan with 0.5 million tons.
- According to Oil World, 700,000 tons of sunseed were imported into the EU over the period of June-July (28,000 tons a year earlier). Deliveries reached 604,000 tons from Ukraine, 51,000 tons from Moldova and 28,000 tons from Argentina. The largest purchases were made in Bulgaria (392,000 tons) and Romania (127,000 tons). The export of sunseed meal from Bulgaria reached 179,000 tons mainly to China. The total export of sunseed meal from the EU was 247,000 tons (99,000 a year earlier), including 142,000 tons for China.
- Algeria has announced a tender for the purchase of at least 50,000 tons of milling wheat with delivery in November. On September 1, 2022, the country purchased wheat at a price of 364-365 USD/ton C&F and delivery within September-October.
- The authorities in Egypt have announced that they can now accept wheat produced by Germany, bringing the number of suppliers to 15 countries.
- Jordan has again canceled a tender for the purchase of 120,000 tons of milling wheat of any origin. A new tender is scheduled for 04.10.2022.
