Grain Highlights 30.09.2022

According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture of Bulgaria, the wheat production in the country is of very high quality in 2022.

- From 05.10.2022, the export tax on Russian wheat will be 2,119 rubles/ton (2,476.6 a week earlier). The export tax on barley will be 1,849.8 rubles/ton (2,152.6) and the export tax on corn will be 3,295.6 rubles/ton (3,659.9).

- As of September 19, 2022, harvested wheat in Russia reached 97 million tons, of which more than 83% was of milling quality. Wheat with 12.5% protein ​​accounts for 58% of the production.

- By the end of September, 19.2 million tons of wheat, 5.5 million tons of barley, 152,800 tons of corn from 0.9% of the areas, 1.565 million tons of sunseed (20%), 3.1 million tons of rapeseed were harvested in Ukraine.

- According to the data of APC - Inform, over the period of 01.07 - 30.09.2022, 8,576 million tons of grain were exported from Ukraine (4,278 in September, 14,363 a year earlier, 5,596 in September 2021). The export of wheat was 3,005 million tons (1,748, 8,938, 4,364), barley exports reached 762,000 tons (432,000, 3,779, 1,015) and corn exports were 4,777 million tons (2,083, 1,430, 165,000).

- According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture of Bulgaria, the wheat production in the country is of very high quality in 2022. Harvested barley reached 616,000 tons at a yield of 4.98 tons/hectare. Corn was harvested on 30% of the areas with a yield of 4.77 tons/hectare, and sunseed was harvested on 73% of the areas with a yield of 2.22 tons/hectare.

- According to data from FranceAgriMer, as of 26/09/2022 in France, 51% of the corn areas were harvested (49% a year earlier). 41% of crops are in good and excellent condition, which is the lowest level since 2011 (43% a week earlier).

- According to data from the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange, as of 09/28/2022, 5.8% of the areas planned for corn were sown in Argentina (11% a year earlier). The delay is caused by the severe drought, with no rain forecast for the next 10 days. 14% of wheat crops are in good and excellent condition, and those in poor condition increased by 3% over the last week to 45%.

- Tunisia received a US $147 million credit for the purchase of wheat and barley.

- Algeria has bought 300,000 tons of milling wheat from the Black Sea region at USD 370/ton C&F and delivery in November.
