Grain Highlights 26.10.2022

In 2022, the production of cereals in Kazakhstan reaches 21.8 million tons, which is the highest level for the last 10 years.

- As of 26.10.2022, 12.185 million tons of cereals were exported from Ukraine (18.19), including 3,493 million tons in October (3,826). 4,623 million tons of wheat (1,582 in October), 1,941 million tons of barley (267,000) and 6,476 million tons of corn (1,632) were exported.

- In October, 7.5 million tons of agricultural products will be exported from Ukraine, including 3.5 million tons - already exported in the first half of the month.

- In 2022, the production of cereals in Kazakhstan reaches 21.8 million tons, which is the highest level for the last 10 years. In 2021, the production was 16.4 million tons (-18% compared to 2020).

- Yesterday, Chicago commodity funds were net buyers of 3,500 contracts of corn and 3,000 contracts of soybeans and net sellers of 500 contracts of wheat.

- From FAS USDA have lowered their forecast for the wheat production in Argentina in 2022/23 to 15.5 million tons (22.5 in 2021/22). The barley production is projected to reach 4.9 million tons (-0.4). Wheat exports will be 10 million tons (16.2), and barley exports are estimated at 3 million tons (3.9).

- Pakistan has held a tender for the purchase of 500,000 tons of wheat. The received offers were priced within 373 - 414.15 USD/ton C&F, and the delivery dates are within November - December.

- Jordan has bought 60,000 tons of wheat at 372.75 USD/ton C&F and delivery in the first half of January 2023.
