- In the first week of November, 1.07 million tons of grain were exported from Ukraine (1.194 a year earlier), and since the beginning of the season total grain exports reach 14.272 million tons (20.605). So far in the season 5.386 million tons of wheat (388,000 tons in November), 1.173 million tons of barley (67,000) and 7.657 million tons of corn (606,000) have been exported.
- Strategie Grains predicts that in 2023/24 rapeseed areas in the EU will be 6 million hectares, which is 2.4% more than in 2022/23. Sunseed areas will be close to the current season's record 5.1 million tons.
- In 2022/23, Poland had a record wheat production of 13.5 million tons. The barley production was 2.8 million tons (-6% compared to 2021/22). The total grain production is 36 million tons.
- On Friday, Chicago commodity funds were net buyers of 2,000 contracts of corn, 8,500 contracts of soybeans and 2,000 contracts of wheat.
- According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics of China, 4.14 million tons of soybeans were imported into the country in October, which is 19% less than October 2021 and the lowest level since October 2014, when 4.1 million tons were imported. During the first 10 months of the year, soybean imports totaled 73.18 million tons (-7.4%).
- At the end of October, palm oil stocks in Malaysia reached the highest level for the last 3.5 years at 2.53 million tons (+9.3% for the month). The monthly palm oil production was 1.82 million tons (+3%) and palm oil exports were 1.48 million tons (+4.5%).
- Iraq has purchased 150,000 tons of durum wheat at 480 – 499 USD/ton C&F from Lithuania, Canada and Australia.
- Algeria has announced a tender for the purchase of at least 50,000 tons of milling wheat with November-December delivery. At the previous tender held on 26.10.2022, 80,000 tons of wheat were purchased at a price of 381 USD/ton C&F and delivery within November - December.
