- In May, the export of wheat from Russia will reach 4.9 million tons, which is 3.8 times more than last year. Total grain exports are projected at 5.75 million tons, which is 3.1 times more than last year. In May, wheat supplies to Turkey reached 916,000 tons, 637,000 tons to Egypt, 287,000 tons to Libya, 216,000 tons to Israel, 204,000 tons to Saudi Arabia and 192,000 tons to Algeria.

- As of 05/29/2023, grain exports from Ukraine reached 44,919 million tons (47,011 a year earlier), including 3.033 million tons in May (1.142). 15.378 million tons of wheat (980,000), 2.627 million tons of barley (162,000) and 26.582 million tons of corn (1.884) were exported.

- During the period January - April, the supply of biodiesel from China to the EU reached 0.85 million tons, which is twice as much as the previous year. In April alone, imports reached 178,000 tons (+30%). Significant imports are depressing rapeseed oil prices in Europe.

- The Deutscher Raiffeisenverband has raised its forecast for the 2023/24 wheat production in Germany by 0.1 million tons to 22.3 million tons. The forecast for the rapeseed production remained at the level of last season - 4.3 million tons.

- On Friday, Chicago commodity funds were net buyers of 8,500 contracts of corn, 5,000 contracts of soybeans and 4,500 contracts of wheat.

- According to Conab data, as of 05/27/2023, 0.4% of the second corn crop has been harvested in Brazil. Harvesting has begun in Mato Grosso and Paraná. Rainfall is needed in Mato Grosso de Sul to keep the production potential. The first corn crop has been harvested on 82% of the areas.

- AgRural raised its forecast for the 2022/23 corn production in Brazil to 127.4 million tons (125.1 in the previous estimate.

- Heavy rains in the Chinese province of Henan give reason to expect a decline in the production and a deterioration in quality. The province is a major producer of wheat in the country.
