According to Refinitiv Commodities Research's forecast for 2023/24, the soft wheat production in the EU will reach 127.7 million tons (-0.3 compared to the previous estimate and 125.7 in 2022/23).

During the period of September 6 - 12, the export tax on Russian wheat will be 4,007.6 rubles/ton (3,729.2 a week earlier), on barley it will be 574.8 rubles/ton (431.8) and the export tax on corn will be 1,954.9 rubles/ton (1,931.5).

Russia maintains a high pace of oilseed processing, as in July, the country's sunseed oil production was 1.35 million tons (1 in June).

During the period from July 1 to September 1, 2023, Ukraine exported 4.521 million tons of grain (3.964 a year earlier), including 2.247 million tons in August (2.264). They exported 1.992 million tons of wheat, 480,000 tons of barley (185,000), and 2.039 million tons of corn (886,000).

According to Refinitiv Commodities Research's forecast for 2023/24, the soft wheat production in the EU will reach 127.7 million tons (-0.3 compared to the previous estimate and 125.7 in 2022/23), hard wheat production is projected at 7.5 million tons (-0.1 and 7.1) and corn production is expected at 62.6 million tons (-1.1 and 52.1).

On Thursday, Chicago commodity funds were net sellers of 8,000 contracts of soybeans, 1,000 contracts of wheat, and 500 contracts of corn.

According to StatsCan's forecast for 2023/24, the wheat production in Canada will be 29.5 million tons (34.335 in 2022/23), including hard wheat production of 5.79 million tons (4.26), spring wheat production of 25.844 million tons (22-102), and winter wheat production of 2.701 million tons (3.112). The rapeseed production will be 17.6 million tons (-6%).

According to data from the Grain Exchange in Argentina, 6 million hectares of wheat have been sown for the 2023/24 crop. Wheat crops are in satisfactory to poor condition due to prolonged drought.

The government of India is considering reducing the import tax on wheat, which is currently 40%, in order to cool down domestic market prices. As of August 1, 2023, wheat stocks in the country were 28.3 million tons (26.6 a year earlier and 35.3 on average for the last 10 years).

Tunisia has purchased 100,000 tons of durum wheat at a price of 426.49 - 428.89 USD/ton C&F and 50,000 tons of barley at a price of 230 USD/ton C&F with delivery in September.

Jordan has purchased 60,000 tons of feed barley at a price of 254 USD/ton C&F with delivery in February.
