In August, Russia exported 7.7 million tons of grain (+32% compared to August 2022), including 6.5 million tons of wheat (+36.6% and a current record from August 2021 of 6.6 million tons), 997,000 tons of barley (+7%), and 212,000 tons of corn (+190%).

The largest buyers of wheat are Egypt with 910,000 tons, Algeria with 610,000 tons, Turkey with 481,000 tons, Kenya with 444,000 tons and Bangladesh with 319,000 tons.

According to the forecast of the Ukrainian Grain Association for 2023/24, the country's grain exports will reach 49 million tons (48 in the previous estimate), including 16 million tons of wheat, 3 million tons of barley, 22 million tons of corn. Sunseed exports will reach 0.5 million tons, rapeseed exports are projected at 4 million tons and soybean exports are estimated at 3.3 million tons.

According to data from Fedoil, in July, soybean processing in the EU reached 1.26 million tons (1.11 in June 466 517,000 tons (517,000 and 326,000). In total, processed oilseeds from the beginning of 2023 are 22.67 million tons (21.63).

On Friday, Chicago commodity funds were net sellers of 2,000 wheat contracts and net buyers of 3,500 corn contracts and 500 soybean contracts.

According to the latest forecast by ABARES for 2023/24, the wheat production in Australia will reach 26.2 million tons (-1 compared to the previous forecast and -34% compared to 2022/23). IKON predicts a wheat production of 30.4 million tons, with a total of 48.1 million tons of winter crops, including wheat, barley, and rapeseed.

During the period from September 1 to 15, the base price of crude palm oil in Indonesia is 805.2 USD/ton (820.35 until the end of August).

In August, 2.227 million tons of grain were exported from the Russian port of Novorossiysk (1.171 in August 2022), including 1.973 million tons of wheat (0.8) and 215,000 tons of barley (264,000).

Algeria has purchased 600,000 tons of durum wheat at prices ranging from 465 to 490 USD/ton C&F with delivery from October to December.

Egypt has purchased 60,000 tons of wheat from Bulgaria through direct negotiations at a price of 270 USD/ton C&F.

Egypt has purchased 480,000 tons of Russian wheat through private negotiations at a price of 270 USD/ton FOB. Initially, the offers were at prices ranging from 286.25 to 291 USD/ton C&F.

According to data from Oil World, during the period of August - July 2022/23, sunseed oil imports in Turkey reached a record 1.27 million tons (+0.4 compared to the previous year). Reserves as of 08/01/2023 double to 0.5 million tons.
