SovEcon has raised its forecast for the wheat production in Russia for 2024/25 by 0.4 million tons to 94 million tons, compared to 92.8 million tons in 2023/24.
According to the MARS forecast for 2024/25, the average yield of soft wheat in the EU will reach 5.91 tons per hectare (5.82 in 2023/24), while winter barley yield will be at 5.95 tons per hectare (6.05).
From the beginning of the season until March 17, 2024, Canada exported 15.7 million tons of wheat (-4% compared to the previous season), including 2.2 million tons of durum wheat (-38%).
During the second ten-day period of March, Russia exported 2.875 million tons of grain, while during the first period, Russia exported 1.269 million tons. Wheat exports during the second ten-day period were 2.386 million tons (compared to 1.068 million tons in the first ten-day period of March).
In its March report, analysts from Coceral forecast a grain production in Bulgaria for 2024/25 of 9.63 million tons, which is -0.63 million tons lower compared to the previous estimate. Back in 2023/24, grain production was 9.78 million tons.
The Canadian Ministry of Agriculture forecasts the wheat production for 2024/25 in the country at 34.6 million tons (+0.7 compared to the previous estimate and +2.6 compared to 2023/24).
According to MDIC data, from March 11th to 17th, Brazil exported 54,100 tons of corn (-68.8% compared to the previous week). Soybean exports were 2.7 million tons (3.6).
The European Commission officially proposed easing the requirements for farmers regarding green policy. Farmers will not be obligated to leave uncultivated land.
The Association of Farmer Cooperatives in Germany forecasts a wheat production in the country in 2024 of 20.14 million tons (a decrease of 6.5% compared to 2023), and a rapeseed production of 3.93 million tons (a decrease of 6.9%).
