- In June, 976,340 tons of grain were exported from the Russian port of Novorossiysk, which is 35% more than in May and 4 times more than in June 2020. 941,690 tons of wheat were exported.
- From 01.07.2021 the export tax on sunseed from Russia increases by 50%, but not less than 320 USD/ton. The export tax will be valid until 31.08.2022.
- According to APC-Inform, oilseeds areas in Ukraine will be at a record high level of 9.5 million hectares in 2021, which is 2% more than the previous year. Sunseed areas are expected to reach 6.9 million hectares and the sunseed production is estimated at 16.6 million tons. Rapeseed areas estimates was lowered to 1.5 million hectares (-20%).
- According to the forecast of APC - Inform, grain exports from Ukraine will reach a total of 54 million tons in 2021/22, which is 20% more than 2020/21, including wheat exports of 19.8 million tons (+18%), barley exports of 4.2 million tons (+0%) and corn exports which are expected to grow by 26%. Total grain production will be 73.7 million tons, including:
- wheat production - 27.3 million tons (+10%)
- barley production - 7.9 million tons (+3%)
- corn production - 36.2 million tons (+19%)
- In 2021, the wheat production in Moldova is expected to reach 1.2 - 1.3 million tons (620,000 tons in 2020) with an average wheat yield of 7 tons/hectare.
- The European Commission has lowered its forecast for the soft wheat production in the EU-27 to 125.8 million tons (126.2 million tons in the previous forecast and +7% compared to 2020). Exports estimate remained unchanged at 30 million tons (+3 million tons). The barley production is projected at 53.5 million tons (-1 and -1.2). The corn production estimate was reduced by 400,000 tons to 70.6 million tons.
- According to the forecast of Refinitiv Commodities Research, the wheat production in the EU will reach 128.8 million tons in 2021/22, which is 1.8 million tons less than the previous estimate (117.2 million tons in 2020/21). The forecast for the corn harvest remained unchanged - 67.6 million tons.
- According to the forecast of the Statistical Office of Canada, canola areas in the country will reach 22.5 million acres in 2021 (+8.2% compared to 2020). Wheat areas are projected at 23.4 million acres (-6.5%), soybean areas are estimated at 5.3 million acres (+4.9 %) and barley areas are expected to reach 8.3 million acres (+9.7%).
- Tunisia has purchased 100,000 tons of soft wheat with delivery over the period of July - August at prices within 281.94 - 283.48 USD/ton C&F. 100,000 tons of feed barley were also purchased at prices of 270.48 - 271.94 USD/ton C&F.
- Turkey has bought 395,000 tons of red milling wheat with delivery in July-August.
- Iran is looking to buy 60,000 tons of milled wheat, 60,000 tons of corn and 60,000 tons of barley with delivery within August-September.
