Grain Highlights 14.04.2022

According to FAS USDA data, the soybean production in Brazil will reach a record 139 million tons in 2022/23 (+11.2 compared to 2021/22). The export potential is expected to reach 87 million tonnes (77).

- From 01.05.2022 the export tax on sunseed oil from Russia will be 372.2 USD/ton (313 in April). The export tax on sunseed meal will be 96.3 USD/ton.

- FranceAgriMer lowered its forecast for non-EU wheat exports from France in 2021/22 by 0.2 million tons to 9.5 million tons. Exports to EU countries will be 8.1 million tons (7.8), and ending stocks remain unchanged at 3 million tons.

- According to the forecast of the Association of Farmers' Cooperatives in Germany, wheat production in Germany in 2022 will increase by 2.7 million tons (+6.2% compared to 2021). Rapeseed production is expected to increase by 3.88 million tons (+11.1%). The winter barley production will reach 8.89 million tons (+0.1% compared to 2021), spring barley production is projected at 1.74 million tons (+15.2%) and corn production is estimated at 4.31 million tons (-2.8%).

- Yesterday, commodity funds in Chicago were net buyers of 4,000 contracts of corn, 1,500 contracts of soybeans and 4,500 contracts of wheat.

- The sowing campaign of corn in northeastern China will be delayed. The prices of corn are now at record levels, because there is a decline in yields.

- In March, soybean crush in the United States will probably reach 4.95 million tons. In February, soybean crush was 4.49 million tons, and in March 2021 it reached 4.84 million tons.
