- SovEcon raised their forecast for the 2023/24 wheat production in Russia by 1.2 million tons to 88 million tons, including winter wheat production of 63.9 million tons and spring wheat production of 24.1 million tons.

- According to data from the National Statistical Agency of Germany, the area with winter cereals in the country will be 5 million hectares in 2023/24 (+1% compared to 2022/23). 2.9 million hectares will be sown with winter wheat (-1%), 1.3 million hectares with winter barley (+5%) and 611,400 hectares with other crops (+4%). Areas with spring cereals will be 925,600 hectares (-11%), including 28,800 hectares with spring wheat (-45%), 329,300 hectares with spring barley (-11%) and 429,000 hectares with corn (-6%). Rapeseed areas will reach 1.2 million hectares (+8%).

- According to Fediol's estimate, the processing of the main oil crops (soy, sunseed and rapeseed) in the EU was 3.33 million tons in April (-0.04 compared to March and 3.17 compared to April 2022), including 1.23 million tons of soybeans (+4% and 1.32), 1.63 million tons of rapeseed (-2% and +20%) and 477,000 tons of sunseed (-8% and -2%). From the beginning of 2023, the processing of oil crops reaches 13.16 million tons, including 4.66 million tons of soybeans, 6.55 million tons of rapeseed and 1.96 million tons of sunseed.

- In the first 8 months of 2022/23, Italy bought 1.09 million tons of durum from Canada, which is four times more than the previous year. According to Arete's forecast, the durum wheat production in the EU will be 7.5 million tons in 2023/24, with imports of 2.1 million tons.

- The EU will lift the sanctions against Rosselkhozbank only after the end of the war between Russia and Ukraine.

- According to Abiove's forecast, soybean exports from Brazil are projected at 95.7 million tons in 2022/23 (+2 compared to the previous estimate and +17 compared to 2021/22). The production will reach 155 million tons (+1.4 and +25.1), and ending stocks are estimated at 8.2 million tons (+1.4 and +4.2). Soybean processing in Brazil will be 53 million tons (+0.5 and +2.1), soymeal production is expected at 40.6 million tons (+1.6 compared to the previous year), which is a new record. Soyoil production is expected at 10.7 million tons (+ 0.7).

- According to data from the Statistical Office of China, the import of Brazilian soybeans into the country was 5.3 million tons in April (-16% compared to April 2022). In the first 4 months of 2023, deliveries from Brazil were 9.21 million tons (-28%). In April, deliveries from the United States were 1.82 million tons (+11%), and since the beginning of the year they totalled 18.24 million tons (15).
