According to USDA data as of April 7, 2024, 3% of the planned spring wheat areas have been planted in the United States.

During the period from April 1 to 7, 1.197 million tons of grain were exported from Russia, which is a decrease of 22.4% compared to the previous year, including 954,000 tons of wheat (-24.8%), 68,400 tons of corn (-67%), and 174,500 tons of barley.

According to data from AHDB in February, 93,700 tons of wheat were imported for processing in the UK (+7% compared to January and +22% compared to February 2023). During the month, the share of imported and processed wheat in the country increased to 19.3%, the highest level since September 2021. This increase is due to the low quality of local wheat from the 2023 production.

According to USDA data as of April 7, 2024, 3% of the planned spring wheat areas have been planted in the United States. 56% of the winter wheat crops are in good to excellent condition (56% higher than last week and 27% higher than last year), while 12% are in poor to very poor condition (11% and 37%).

According to the forecast from FAS USDA, the oilseed production in Canada for 2024/25 will reach 24.86 million tons (compared to 25.4 million tons in 2023/24). The canola production will be 18.069 million tons (18.328 million tons in the previous year), soybean production will be 6.716 million tons (6.981 million tons), and sunseed production is expected at 76,000 tons (92,000 tons). Processing capacity is expected to increase to 16.1 million tons in 2025 (compared to 13 million tons in March 2024).

According to AgRural data as of April 4, 2024, 78% of the soybean areas in Brazil have been harvested, including 4% in the last week and 82% compared to the previous year.

Iran has purchased 102,000 tons of soymeal at a price of 541.30 USD/ton C&F from Brazil or Argentina. There is no information about the result of the tender for the purchase of 120,000 tons of feed barley and 120,000 tons of feed corn.
