In 2025, the Russian government will sell 3 million tons of wheat, rye, and barley from the federal intervention fund reserves. The grain was purchased during campaigns from 2014–2016 and 2022–2024.

Between July 1 and December 29, 2024, Ukraine exported 2.8 million tons of rapeseed, a 4% increase compared to the previous year. This figure is the second-highest in history, following the 2022/23 record of 3.1 million tons. Exports to the EU amounted to 2.5 million tons of oilseeds, up 5%. Total exports for the 2024/25 period are projected to reach 3.3 million tons, marking a three-year low.

Authorities in Kazakhstan will not extend the ban on importing Russian wheat into the country. The ban was implemented on August 21, 2024, and remained in effect until January 1, 2025. Between September 2023 and August 2024, imports totaled 2.229 million tons, compared to 1.99 million tons in 2022/23.

According to SEA data, India exported 329,000 tons of soybean and rapeseed meals in November (275,000 in October and 357,000 in November 2023). Soymeal exports in November amounted to 183,000 tons (114,000 and 264,000, respectively), while rapeseed meal exports reached 145,000 tons (161,000 and 93,000, respectively). The largest buyers of soymeal were Kenya (44,000 tons) and Iran (40,000 tons), while South Korea (43,100 tons), Thailand (42,000 tons), and Bangladesh (30,800 tons) were the top importers of rapeseed meal.

During the first experimental SAF usage program in China, 12 flights were conducted from four airports. The second phase of the experiment will take place in 2025, with more routes and airports involved. Currently, biofuel is 3–5 times more expensive than conventional aviation fuel, mainly due to production scale. This year, biofuels will account for 2% of total jet fuel consumption in the EU. In China, production capacity for biofuel from oils is 350,000 tons, but it is expected to increase tenfold in the coming years. The stated political target is a 2% consumption share by 2025 and a 15% share by 2033. This will require 2.5 million tons of SAF, with over 3 million tons of UCO needed as raw material for production.
