SovEcon has lowered its forecast for the wheat production in Russia to 76.4 million tons from 82.3 million tons in the previous estimate.

- SovEcon has lowered its forecast for the wheat production in Russia to 76.4 million tons from 82.3 million tons in the previous estimate. On Friday, Rosstat lowered its estimate for winter wheat areas in the country to 15.6 million hectares from 16.8 million hectares earlier. The areas with spring wheat are projected at 13.1 million hectares. Last week, ICAR lowered its forecast for the wheat production to 78.5 million tons (81.5). In 2020, wheat production was over 85 million tons. With these results, the Russian government will not soon abolish export taxes, which will have a negative impact on exports. The Russian Grain Union expects a wheat production of 79-80 million tons (82.5-83).

- As of July 2, 2021, 17.7 million hectares of cereals have been harvested in Russia, 58 million tons of grain have been harvested at an average yield of 3.28 tons/hectare (3.49 years earlier). 12.8 million hectares were harvested with wheat, 44.7 million tons of wheat were harvested at an average yield of 3.48 tons/hectare (3.66). 3.1 million hectares were harvested with barley, 9.25 million tons of barley were harvested at an average yield of 2.98 tons/hectare (3.25).

- According to the forecast of Strategie Grains, rapeseed areas in the EU are 5.2 million hectares in 2021/22 and the rapeseed production is expected at 17 million tons (+0.4 million tons compared to 2020/21). The sunseed production is estimated at 9.7 million tons (8.7) and the soybean production at 2.7 million tons (2.6).

- According to Secex data, 8.66 million tons of soybeans were exported from Brazil in July, compared to 11.12 million tons in June.

- According to Datagro's forecast, soybean areas in Brazil will increase by 4% in 2021/22 compared to the previous season to 40.57 million hectares and the soybean production is projected to reach 144.06 million tons (136.96).
