- APC - Inform forecasts a grain production in Russia in 2021 of 124.1 million tons, which is 2% less than in July and 7% less than in 2020. The wheat production will be 77.9 million tons (-3% and -9%), corn production is projected at 14.3 million tons (+5 and +3) and the barley production is expected at 19.2 million tons (+1 and -8).
- In July, Turkey bought 430,000 tons of wheat from Russia, 296,500 tons from Egypt, 260,100 tons from Iran, 149,200 tons from Nigeria and 112,800 tons from Tanzania. Over the period of August 1-11, 1.25 million tons of wheat were exported from Russia (330,000 tons for the same period in July). Exports of 3.7 million tons of wheat are expected for the whole of August.
- According to the latest ICAR forecast, the wheat production in Russia will reach 77 million tons in 2021 compared to 78.5 million tons in the previous estimate. The barley production will be 18 million tons (18.5).
- In July, 52,000 tons of rapeseed were exported from Ukraine (182,850 tons in July 2020 and 487,000 tons in July 2019).
- The authorities in India expect an increase in production of all cereals in the country by 2021, including wheat production of 109.5 million tons (+0.8 million tons compared to the previous estimate and +1.6 million tons compared to 2020), rice production of 122.3 million tons (118.9 for 2020) and a corn production of 31.5 million tons (28.8). The soybean production will be 12.9 million tons (+0.5) and the rapeseed production is expected at 10.1 million tons 11.2 and 9.1).
- Yesterday, after announcing a decline in palm oil stocks in Malaysia at the end of July, palm oil price rose by 7.4% for the day. The decline in palm oil stocks is due to reduced production during the month.
- The authorities in Indonesia have temporarily banned the expansion of palm plantations in the country. The aim is to stop deforestation in order to sow palm trees.
- The South Korean MFG purchased 207,000 tons of corn at a price of 319.99 USD/ton C&F and delivery within September - October.
