Grain Highlights 22.03.2022

According to APC - Inform, the Black Sea FOB price of Ukrainian barley with delivery within July-August is estimated within 370 - 395 USD/ton.

- According to the MARS forecast, the average wheat yield in the EU will be 6.02 tons/hectare in 2022 (6.04 in 2021 and +3.3% compared to the average level for the last five years). The yield of winter barley is projected at 5.83 tons/hectare (-4.1% and +1.5%). The average rapeseed yield is estimated at 3.22 tons/hectare (+0.6% and +4.6%).

- Yesterday, commodity funds in Chicago were net buyers of 11,000 contracts of corn, 13,000 contracts of soybeans and 15,000 contracts of wheat.

- According to AgRural data, as of March 17, 2022, 69% of soybean areas have been harvested in Brazil (+5% for the week and +10% compared to last year).

- On 21.03.2022 the Argentine government has resumed export registration of soyoil and soymeal after the increase of export taxes.

- Turkey is looking to buy 210,000 tons of wheat with delivery in April. On March 17, 2022, 270,000 tons of wheat were purchased.

- Wheat stocks in Iraq are sufficient to meet domestic demand for a maximum of 3 months.
