Grain Highlights 12.06.2023

According to the latest data from the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange, as of 06/07/2023, 94% of the soybean areas in Argentina have been harvested (+7% for the week, 99% a year earlier and 98% on average for the last five years).

- From the beginning of the season to 12.06.2023, 46.748 million tons of grain were exported from Ukraine, including 1.411 million tons in June. 16.05 million tons of wheat (552,000), 2.666 million tons of barley (19,000) and 27.709 million tons of corn (838,000) were exported.

- According to FranceAgriMer data, as of 06/05/2023, 88% of winter wheat crops are in good and excellent condition in France (91% a week earlier, 93% two weeks ago). 87% of winter barley crops (88%), 89% of spring barley crops, 88% of the corn crops are in good and excellent condition.

- Chicago commodity funds were net sellers of 3,500 corn contracts and net buyers of 11,000 soybeans and 1,000 wheat contracts on Friday.

The production forecast remains unchanged at 21 million tons (43.3 in 2021/22). The harvesting campaign of corn has been carried out on 33% of the areas (34% a year earlier). 47% of crops are in good and satisfactory condition (+1% for the week and 76% a year earlier). In the province of Córdoba, yields are well below expectations. However, the production forecast remains unchanged at 36 million tons (52).
