In 2023, the palm oil production in Malaysia is expected to be between 17.9 and 18.5 million tons (compared to 18.45 million tons in 2022).

During the period of 15.02 - 30.06.2024, the export quota for Russian grain will be 24 million tons. Russia's total export potential for the entire season is 65 million tons of grain.

In the first two months of the new season (September - October), Ukraine exported 764,000 tons of sunseed oil, which is 20% less than the previous year. The total export for 2022/23 reached 5.6 million tons.

According to data from Arvalis, the recent heavy rains in France have disrupted the sowing campaign for winter crops. According to FranceAgriMer data as of 30.10.2023, wheat sowing has been completed on 62% of the areas (compared to 72% the previous year). In October, rainfall has been 30% above the monthly average.

According to Conab, recent rains in Brazil have increased soil moisture in the states of Goias and Minas Gerais, which has accelerated the sowing of the 2023/24 soybean crop. So far, 48% of the planned areas have been sown (+8% for the week). Farmers are focusing more on soybean sowing than on the first corn crop for 2023/24.

According to the latest forecasts from FAS USDA, the corn production in Brazil for 2023/24 is expected to be 130 million tons (revised down from the previous estimate of 135 million tons).

In October, rainfall in Australia was 65% below the norm. The month has been the driest October since 2002. In Western Australia, the period has been the driest in the entire history of observations. Scanty rainfall is expected until January. Currently, wheat production forecasts are within the range of 24.5 - 26 million tons.

On 07.11.2023, a Chinese company purchased 10 cargoes of soybeans from the United States, totaling around 600,000 tons with deliveries from December to March.

The South Korean company KFA has announced a tender to purchase 69,000 tons of corn of any origin with delivery in February.

Algeria has purchased 550,000 - 580,000 tons of milling wheat at a price of 266 USD/ton C&F with delivery in December - January.

Jordan has purchased 60,000 tons of wheat of any origin at a price of 276 USD/ton C&F with delivery in February.
